Spotting Fake Celebs On

From “Potemkin Visages: Spotting Fake Celebs On,” which appeared on the front page of the Wall Street Journal this week:

The proliferation of celebrity posers frustrates the many MySpace members who use the site to follow news about — and send fan mail to — pop icons and other prominent personalities who join for cheap publicity.

Obviously the article discusses MySpace and not Facebook, but if this is considered top financial news nowadays, I must be on to something.

  3. Facebook Sucks! says:

On MySpace I noticed they now have a Celebrity Directory which they say lists all the real clebrities. As for Facebook they claim they won’t accept celebrity names but there’s so many fakes on there you have no idea who’s legite and who’s fake. So much for Facebook not accepting any celeb and fake names. They obviously don’t care. if they did they would have done something about it by now.
